Rob and his family moved to New Zealand in 1962, but his mother got homesick and so they moved back to Holland in 1970. Rob was just 10 years old when they travelled on the Australis back to the Netherlands. The ship was then on voyage 24, northbound, and called into Acapulco, Mexico before going through the Panama Canal, and then stopping at Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Welcome all visitors to the S.S. Australis Website, which has now been online since 1998!
