Thomas Hendrie's Picture Gallery Part Two
Below you can enjoy more photos sent in to me by ex Master-at-Arms Thomas Hendrie, he worked on the Australis and Ellinis between 1970 and `72. Tom has asked if anyone knows the whereabouts of Tony West who was Master-at-Arms with him on the Australis (see picture hendrie9j)?
If anyone wants to e-mail Tom he can be contacted on this email address: Thomas Hendrie

Welcome to all visitors to the S.S. Australis Website, Which has been online since 1998!!
As you view the site, you may find it helpful to use the 2 menus above. The first is located below the photos, starting with the words S. S. America. The 2nd menu is on the left side of the intro. paragraph, by the photo of a very young me.

Here is an IMPORTANT UPDATE
There are a series of documentaries called "Secrets of the Lost Liners" currently being shown on U.K. television. This series started screening on July 27th 2022, on Sky History channel at 9pm, on Wednesdays. *the screening times/dates etc may vary around the world*

The SS Australis - under the title SS America will be shown on Wednesday 31st in the UK. I was pleased to be asked to contribute to this programme, along with others who willingly gave their time and memorabilia to help keep the memories alive of this great ship.
Other ships featured in each hour long episode include Andrea Doria, Cap Arona, and the Normandie.
*See the "promo" video for this documentary series below*

I will continue to update this site if I receive a great story/photos. I know there are still stories to share from people all over the world, who haven't yet been in touch.

I am deeply moved by the interest and wonderful contributions from numerous passengers and crew over many years.
