Georgina Chambers's Picture Gallery
Georgina Chambers travelled on the Australis with her parents and older brother on Voyage 51, northbound in November 1975. Georgina has many happy memories of that month she spent on the ship. They set sail from Melbourne all the way through to Southampton, stopping at several ports on the journey. It was the second time her family had been on the Australis as they had sailed from Melbourne in 1967.

The photos below are of Georgina in a talent contest on the ship, a fancy dress competition, and the Crossing the line ceremony(The Equator).

Welcome all visitors to the S.S. Australis Website, which has now been online since 1998!

I will continue to update the site if I receive a new story, or if you have interesting photos taken on the ship during your voyage on either the southbound, northbound, or on one of the South Pacific cruises. We used to do those trips several times a year from Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland (New Zealand).

I am deeply moved by the interest and wonderful contributions from the numerous passengers and crew over many years.
