Linda Duncan Worked with Chandris from 1973 to 1978. She started as a stewardess on board the Ellinis and was transferred to the Britanis as a children's hostess cruising the Caribbean. She only did one trip on the Australis as stewardess and then went back on board the Ellinis (her favourite Chandris ship). Linda again worked as Stewardess and Cashier cruising South America, Med and later onto the Far East which was her last trip.

Linda would like to say a big HELLO to all her old shipmates (they were one big happy family!). She would especially like to mention Linda Turner who is still her good friend after all these years. Also Vicky, Ruth, Katey, Gerry, Beverley, Veronica, Bernie, Chris Preston, George Shelley, John Smith, the shop boys and all those passengers in Aussie who came to pick everyone up, and take them to their place for a B-B-Q (Far East trip) - they certainly knew how to party too!

Last but not least Jimmy Galloway, he was one in a million and Linda misses him loads.

Welcome all visitors to the S.S. Australis Website, which has now been online since 1998!

I will continue to update the site if I receive a new story, or if you have interesting photos taken on the ship during your voyage on either the southbound, northbound, or on one of the South Pacific cruises. We used to do those trips several times a year from Melbourne, Sydney and Auckland (New Zealand).

I am deeply moved by the interest and wonderful contributions from the numerous passengers and crew over many years.
